The BS Cardiac Perfusion program at Superior University trains students in the highly specialized science of extracorporeal circulation — operating heart-lung bypass machines that sustain patients through open heart surgery. The curriculum covers cardiopulmonary bypass, ECMO, VAD support, paediatric and congenital cardiac perfusion, autotransfusion, and cardiac catheterisation lab technology.
Clinical placements take place in cardiac surgery suites and catheterisation labs at CMATRH (600-bed in-house hospital) with real operative experience alongside cardiac surgery teams. The curriculum is aligned with international perfusion standards from AmSECT (American Society of ExtraCorporeal Technology) and EBCP (European Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion). The 3U1M model guarantees one full year of clinical market engagement before graduation.
