Ladies and gentlemen, as you all know, we are living in a world where education is no longer confined to borders. We are facing challenges of economic sustainability and technological disruptions. So it is in that spirit that we need to have a collective wisdom and mutual cooperation. So it is in that spirit ABSUP has been playing its very very influential role to strengthen the higher education in Pakistan.

Founded in in the year of 2021, ABSUP’s mission is to enable, empower and unite the private sector by advocating for their mutual interest. It is a network of 110 Pakistani universities, and its main objective revolves around having three main pillars. First of all, to enhance academic excellence across its partner universities and to build international linkages so that it can open doors for the exchanges, research partnerships and third, by doing advocacy to ensure that the voice of the private sector is included in the policymaking during the past four years.

I would like to highlight the real contribution of ABSUP in Pakistan. During the past four years, it has immensely played its role in contributing to the national higher education development in Pakistan.

Through its national rectors conference, ABSUP has provided a very very influential platform where academic leaders and policy makers they come together, exchange ideas and discuss challenges facing higher education in Pakistan and they deliberate on the solutions that how we can strengthen the higher education sector in Pakistan. ABSUP also believes in recognizing the true heroes of the society by organizing annual academic excellence awards to highlight and to celebrate and to recognize the achievements of our academic leaders in higher education sector.

Moreover, ABSUP it’s been like four years ABSUP has been taking Pakistani delegation to different international destinations like EURIE because we strongly believe that Pakistan has a very very compelling story to tell the story of talent the story of resilience and the untapped potential and the objective of developing these global linkages ABSUP aims to promote study in Pakistan as a as a very very attractive and equally competitive option for the international students. Moreover, recently considering the social cultural challenge of declining ethical leadership and moral corruption, ABSUP has taken a very bold, very proactive and very influential step in designing uh and in redefining the purpose of higher education and the role of universities in redefining or in the moral awakening of our graduates.

It has launched its very pioneering national initiative of leading with character project, which is one of its kind drawn from the inspiration and the real life lessons of our Prophet, Hazat Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. The aim of the initiative is to embed character education across the university system. So by promoting the values of integrity, honesty and empathy in order to develop those graduates who can add more value in developing flourishing society in Pakistan. And as we gather here today, so let’s make this gathering a starting point of uh collaborations uh student and faculty mobility exchanges.

Superior University Convocation 2025 | Rector, Prof. Dr. Sumaira Rehman Addresses Graduates

It is my absolute honour to welcome all of you in Superior Convocation 2025. I am truly
humbled with your presence to celebrate the success of our graduates today. I wish to
congratulate all those who will be conferred with various degrees today.

Honourable Governor, Punjab, Sirdar Salim Haider Khan, Chairman Board of Governors, Professor Dr Chaudry Abdu Rahman, Pro-rector, Superior University, Dr Nizamuddin, distinguished guests, respected parents, faculty, alumni, and my dear graduates,

Assalamu Alaykum.

It is my absolute honour to welcome all of you in Superior Convocation 2025. I am truly humbled with your presence to celebrate the success of our graduates today. I wish to congratulate all those who will be conferred with various degrees today.

Being the rector of Superior University, I always feel proud in saying that Superior University is not an ordinary university. It is a university driven by its vision, mission, and values. Our focus on student success has not only enabled us to bring improvements in quality of education, but also guiding us to design some creative and innovative solutions to address the challenge of student employability.

Our very distinctive innovative programme 3U1M, which is three years in the university, powered by project-based learning, and one market-intensive year, powered by four career streams. It is very innovative programme because it has a promise to prepare the graduates for market-ready skills and for the next generation of entrepreneurs.

It’s been five years since we implemented 3U1M programme in Superior University, and I feel so proud in sharing that within five years, our 178 student-owned startups are commercial. They have created 1800 new jobs and generated 13 billion revenue.

Our employability has significantly improved from 70% to 90%, and in some of the departments, it is 100%. I think it is 11 departments which secured 100% employability, which is a huge recognition and achievement for Superior University.

Our 3U1M programme has started gaining recognition at national and international level. COMSTECH has nominated Superior University as their coordinator to implement our 3U1M programme in OIC countries. And they have translated our programme in French and Arabic languages, which is a huge recognition for our entire team.

With the passage of time, we keep on improving and strengthening our 3U1M programme, considering the socioeconomic challenge that there are less job opportunities available in Pakistan, so last year we took the initiative and we offered 1M with Global Experience with the aim to prepare our workforce for the global market. For that purpose, we have established our campus in Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai, and we are offering our students six languages, including German, French, Arabic, and Chinese to smooth their mobility into global marketplace. Not only that, considering or acknowledging the fact that our society is going through very challenging time with respect to tolerance, justice, and ethical leadership.

I personally believe, and being Rector, I always believe that our student or our graduates needs more than just technical skills. They need empathy, integrity, responsibility, honesty. They are essential tools to achieve sustainable success in life. During the past one year, we have been working on this phenomena to explore that how we can work on the character building of our graduates and to enable them to contribute positively in the society. After rigorous research work of one year, we have successfully established and designed and implemented our Character Mastery framework in the Sperior University with the aim to bring more clarity to the idea of character education in higher education and the importance of holistic character development to achieve sustainable success.

I strongly believe that if we want to nurture the responsible citizens and leaders of tomorrow, then we have to put character first to nurture the generation of wise thinkers and ethical leaders.

Ladies and gentlemen, apart from bringing innovations in our educational models, we keep on improving our infrastructure, governance, and leadership at the Imperial University as well. During the past few years, we have invested 600 million to improve the infrastructure. We have also invested 1.3 million for the faculty and staff development. In order to improve the access to education, Rupees 2 billion scholarship has been awarded to deserving students by Superior Foundation. And not only that, in order to bring the diversity and inclusion, Superior Foundation has also awarded Rupees 1 billion scholarship to female students only. That’s how we are trying to improve the access to education in our university.

Being Rector, I’m also mindful of the fact that universities are known for their research and our focus on applying Applied research and commercialization has enabled us to improve the research productivity in the university during the past few years. Our productivity has increased considerably during the past few years. This is just because of our focus on applied research and commercialization. Also, our five-year strategic plan, Soar to Roar, has some of the promising initiatives to make superior universities university, one of the leading research university of Pakistan by 2028, Inshallah. Definitely, you’re going to witness that.

As I walk across the campus, I feel so proud and contented that how far we have come. But being leader of this exceptional university, I believe there’s still more to achieve, and we never stopped dreaming big for the university.
Ladies and gentlemen, all the developments and the transformations that has taken place in the university, I must recognise and appreciate the fact that it would not have been possible without the devotion, commitment, dedication, and hard work of my amazing teams of deans, programme leaders, heads of departments, faculty, students, and alumni.

So, thank you very much everyone, for believing in my ideas and vision for Superior University. It would be unfair to proceed further without acknowledging the true leadership, the patronage, and the inspiring vision behind superior university. The credit of this vision goes to none than our visionary leader, Chairman Board of Governors, Professor Dr. Chaudri Abdu Rahman. Thank you very much, sir, for giving us the vision and the purpose of this university.

My dear graduates, today’s ceremony marks the completion of your studies, but it is the beginning of a whole new world of opportunities. I have no doubt that the education and the experience you gain from superior university has enabled you with relevant skills needed to contribute positively in the society. Whether you are entering into the workforce or maybe pursuing higher studies or maybe embarking on any entrepreneurial venture, remember, should belong and you carry the legacy of the university that believes in pushing limits to create a positive impact into the society.

So, I urge you to become a role model, work hard, and never give up. Live your life with passion, integrity and remember one thing that there is no shortcut to success. Success only comes with hard work, honesty and persistence.

I wish you all the best and success in life. It is not only a good bye; Superior university is a community I want you to cherish by joining our esteemed Superior Alumni Association and stay connected with your Alma Mater.

In the end, I would like to thank all those who have supported you throughout your journey including your parents, faculty, friends and family. Thank you all of you for supporting our graduates reaching this success.

Remember- two words can change your life- Be Superior.

Superior University Convocation 2024

I am truly humbled for your presence to celebrate the success of our graduates today. And I wish to congratulate all the graduates who will be conferred with various degrees. On this occasion today, I stand here with a great pride in saying that Superior University is not an ordinary university. It is a university which is driven by the vision, mission, and the values.

بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم۔

His Excellency, Governor of Punjab, Baleegh ur Rehman Sahib, Chairman Board of Governors, Professor Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman Sahib, Honourable Senator, Irfan Siddiqui Sahib, Respected Shehzad Nawaz Sahib, Distinguished Guests, Respected Veterans, Faculty, and my dear students- Assalamu alaykum.

It is my absolute honour to welcome all of you in Superior Convocation 2024.

Our mission of facilitating superior human beings is driving us every day to achieve our number one value of student success. Our focus on student success is not only helping us to improve our quality of teaching and learning, but also guiding us to design some innovative solutions to tackle the challenge of student employability.

Our very innovative and experiential learning framework, 3U1M, which is three years in the university powered by project-based learning and one market-intensive year, followed by four career streams. 3U1M has the promise to not only prepare market-ready graduates, but also nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs. It’s been four years since we implemented 3U1M program to transform our entire undergrad education at Superior University. And I feel so proud in sharing that 140 student-owned startups are commercial, they have created 1,500 new jobs, and they have generated 13 billion revenue.

And over the period of time, our employability has significantly improved from 70% to 90%. And in some of the departments, it is actually 100%, especially in Pharmacy, CS and IT, Mass Communication, Aviation Management, and Management Sciences. 3U1M program is not an ordinary program.

Our 3U1M program has now started getting recognition not only at national level, but at international level. Recently, COMSTEC has nominated Superior University as its coordinator to implement 3U1M framework in OIC countries.

They have translated our 3U1M framework in two languages for its implementation in OIC countries, which is a huge recognition for all of us. With the passage of time, we keep on improving and strengthening our 3U1M program. So, considering the socioeconomic challenges prevalent in Pakistan, especially in terms of less employment opportunities, this year we have introduced another stream in our 1M program, which is Superior Go Global, with the aim to prepare graduates for the global workforce.

Our 1M Global Experience provides opportunity to our students. Either they can set up their business globally or they can become part of global workforce. So, as time is moving, so we have also launched our international campus in UAE. our mentored 57 students went to our Ras Al Khaimah campus and they are successfully completing their international work experience bootcamp, which is a huge recognition for our students to facilitate their mobility in UAE market.

We have also launched our five launchpads in Dubai, Canada, Japan, and Portugal to facilitate the mobility of our graduates in the global market. We have also established our language center in Superior University, which is offering five languages services to our students for their international ability. I feel like every day is a new day at Superior University.

We keep on thinking new ideas and ways on how to improve our impact as a university. So we not only bring innovation in our educational models, but also improve the infrastructure, governance, and leadership by Superior University. We have introduced another achievement which we achieved over the year, that is Superior University has become the first Pakistani university that is being featured in United Nations Academic Impact Report on best practices of implementing sustainable demanding goals in higher education.

Another significant achievement which we have achieved over the year is that we are the first ever Pakistani university to become the BABSON collaborative. BABSON is the world’s largest institute of entrepreneurship and it will definitely open up new opportunities not only for our students, but for our faculty as well.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me tell you that we have invested 800 million to improve the infrastructure of the university. 85 million has been invested for the capacity building programs of faculty and staff. And in order to improve the access to education, the scholarships of 1.7 billion have been granted to deserving students by Superior Foundation. And scholarships of 400 million have been awarded to female only in order to promote gender diversity and inclusion.

Moreover, as we move on and as I walk across the campus, I feel so contented and proud that how far we have come. For being leader of this exceptional institute, I still believe there is still more to achieve. And we never stop dreaming big for the university.

Once again, we set up a new direction for the Superior University and with ambition and being rector and mindful of the fact that universities are known for their research and the ambition at Superior University to promote applied research that has societal benefit. I’m sure our five-year strategic plan, Soar to Roar, has very promising initiatives to make Superior University one of the leading universities of Pakistan by 2028, inshallah.

Ladies and gentlemen, due to all educational innovation and all the achievements and the development that has been taken so far over the period of year, I must recognize and appreciate the commitment, devotion and hard work of my amazing team of deans, HODs, Program in-charges, students, alumni and of course, my all admin and support teams.

Thank you very much all of you for believing in my ideas and vision for Superior University. It would be unfair without acknowledging the unconditional support and patronage of our very dynamic and inspirational leader, Chairman Board of Governors, Professor Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman is a true patriot and believes in making difference in the lives of others. On this occasion today, I must congratulate two amazing personalities who are honored to get honorary degrees.

Superior University believes in recognizing the true heroes of the society. Honorable Irfan Siddiqui Sahib, Shehzad Nawaz Sahib, this degree is a testament of your exceptional commitment and contribution in your respective fields. I wish you all the success.

My dear graduates, today’s ceremony marks the completion of your studies, but it is a beginning of new journey with new opportunities to find your passion. I’m sure your university has given you all the relevant skills needed to contribute in the society. I urge you to become role models, work hard, never give up and live your life with dignity and respect.

Always believe in Allah and yourself to achieve the ultimate success. Remember, there are no shortcuts to success. Success comes with honesty, hard work and persistence.

And remember, always be ready to learn, unlearn and relearn. In the end, definitely I would like to thank all your teachers and your parents who have supported you to reach here today. I wish you all success and happiness in life.

And remember, two words can change your life- Be Superior.

On this occasion, I feel so proud and let me take this opportunity to share the journey of my success during the last 5 years which is not lesser than roller-coaster. Time flew so fast but the memories are still fresh.

As you all know, I joined Superior University with a mission that my university will not be the factory of unemployed youth, it will be the university which will convert human resource into human capital by nurturing youth to become Job-Creators rather than Job-Seekers. And having the background of Entrepreneurship, I always believed in the power of Entrepreneurship, and I designed and launched our very revolutionary Entrepreneurship Teaching and Training Program across the University with a mission to create entrepreneurial mindsets among youth to make socioeconomic impact to build economically superior Pakistan. Our unique approach to entrepreneurship education has not only transformed the entire university in five years but also has gained national and international recognition at various platforms.

Today, I want to tell you that our focus on students success has not only enabled us to bring more quality in teaching and learning but also guided us to bring more innovations and design-creative solutions to tackle some of more pressing challenge in terms of student employability and we were so fortunate to tackle this challenge through our very innovative 3U1M program, 3 years in University and 1 market intensive year has a promise not only to produce market ready graduates but also to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Let me proudly share that within 3 years of successful implementation of our 3U1M program, our 100 students startups are commercial, they have generated 900 new jobs and they have created 800 Million revenue. Moreover, our employability rate has significantly improved after this 3U1M program implementation, it has significantly improved from 70 percent to 90 percent and even in some departments it is even 100 percent especially in Mass Communication, Business Administration and Aviation Management and I believe that the credit of the success goes to committed faculty and deans of the respective departments.

Being Rector, I always believe in working in collaboration with my students as a partner of university development, that is why we designed various platforms for their meaningful engagements through students voice leader, clubs and societies to develop well-rounded graduates. Since the time I joined Superior University, I feel every day is a new day. Prof. Dr. Sumaira Rehman Speech | SEE Pakistan 2024

It is my absolute honour to welcome all of you in Pakistan’s largest Entrepreneurial Expo, SEE Pakistan 2024.

Honourable Chief Guest, Member of National Assembly, Mustafa Kamal Sahib; Minister of Education, Rana Sikandar Sahib; Chairman, Higher Education Commission, Dr. Mukhtar Sahib; Chairman, Professor Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman Sahib;

Distinguished Delegates, International Delegates, my respected colleagues and my dear students, Assalam-o-Alaikum!

It is my absolute honour to welcome all of you in Pakistan’s largest Entrepreneurial Expo, SEE Pakistan 2024.

I’m really very grateful for your valuable presence, which is indeed a source of encouragement for all of us. As the documentary says, the objective of today’s Expo is not only to promote entrepreneurial culture in Pakistan, but also to ignite the passion of entrepreneurship among our youth. Because the youth of Pakistan is innovative and creative, and they have the potential to change the fate of the country.

Ladies and gentlemen, SEE Pakistan is an annual feature to celebrate the independence of Pakistan, and to remind ourselves what real celebration of independence should look like. It is not just an Expo of showcasing innovation and creative ideas, but also a testament to our boundless potential of our youth. Each startup, exhibiting today, represents a dream, a solution to a problem, and a step towards better and prosperous Pakistan.

I personally believe that entrepreneurship has the power to drive sustainable economic growth, and the role of the universities in this regard is central in shaping the human capital needed for the economy. I still remember the day when we initiated this idea of SEE Pakistan at Superior University, with a vision that Superior University will not be the factory of unemployed youth. It will enable and empower our youth with entrepreneurial mindset through our unique entrepreneurship teaching and training programme to enable them to become job creators rather than job seekers.

And ever since, our innovative educational models are helping and nurturing our youth to make their social economic impact into the society. Ladies and gentlemen, SEE Pakistan is comprised of a series of events which spread across the year, which brings together entrepreneurial educators, government, and industry. This year’s Expo kicked off with the launch of World Startup Championship in May, and I’m so pleased that we have received very overwhelming response this year.

More than 157 universities participated in World Startup Championship, and over 1,800 startup applications were received from 141 cities of Pakistan, and 200 startup applications were received from 35 countries around the globe. I am so pleased to say 11 regional evaluation rounds and 5 global evaluation rounds took place, and after rigorous evaluation and selection process of three months, only 100 startups have been shortlisted to showcase in the grand finale of today. The shortlisted startups are mainly from agriculture, agri-tech, fin-tech, and climate change.

And believe me, I especially feel proud to say that 50% of startups applied for SEE Pakistan are women-led, which not only shows a significant advancement of gender inclusion in entrepreneurship, but also reflect on the role of the women in driving innovation and economic growth of Pakistan. Today is the grand finale of 100 shortlisted startups under two main categories, the Growth Stage and Ideation Stage. The winner of growth stage will be awarded with the seed fund of rupees 500,000 in the closing ceremony today, and there is also rupees 200,000 seed fund for the ideation stage.

And for each category, there is a seed fund of 100,000 for each category of healthcare, fin-tech, agri-tech, and climate change. So the final judging round is taking place in the other hall of the expo centre, which we will definitely inaugurate today. In the end, definitely, I would like to acknowledge and appreciate the role of each stakeholder whose support has been instrumental in making this expo successful.

First of all, I am truly grateful to Chairman APSUP for giving us the opportunity to expand SEE Pakistan at national and international level. Sir, thank you very much. I really appreciate your role in bringing together the higher education sector to promote harmony, collaboration, and inclusivity.

This SEE Pakistan indeed is a platform for collaboration and networking, and I am truly grateful to all my partner universities and collaborators for joining hands together for the vision of developing economically superior Pakistan. And I would also like to express my gratitude to all the sponsors who supported us with their generous and unwavering support. And today, I really want to acknowledge and appreciate the hard work, dedication, and devotion of my entire amazing SEE Pakistan organising team, including all student volunteers, for putting up such a wonderful show.

I would also like to express my heartfelt congratulations to all the budding entrepreneurs out there. I wish them all the success. In the end, once again, I am truly grateful to each and every stakeholder who has gathered here to witness the future leaders, the future industries, and future innovations that will definitely shape our economy and the society.

So once again, a warm welcome to SEE Pakistan 2024, Pakistan Zindabad.

And to show to the world that the youth of Pakistan is very innovative, creative, and they have the potential to change the fate of the country.

Ladies and gentlemen, entrepreneurship has the power to drive sustainable economic growth of any country. Because it is the foundation of any thriving society or a country.

I personally believe in the power of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship has the power to change. And it has created wonders. I still remember the time when we initiated the idea of SEE Pakistan at Superior University about eight years ago.

With the vision that Superior University will not be the factory of unemployed youth. It will be the university which will nurture and which will enable and empower youth of Pakistan. Through our very innovative entrepreneurship teaching and training programme to become job creators rather than job seekers.

Alhamdulillah, our Entrepreneurship Teaching and Training Programme (ETTP) ever since has been creating social and economic impact in the society and the communities around us. SEE Pakistan is meant to showcase the innovative and creative side of Pakistan. And to portray the positive image in front of the international delegates that Pakistan is like this.

This year we launched international chapter of SEE Pakistan. Which comprises of series of multi day-events. Which brings together entrepreneurial educators, government, industry and major entrepreneurial ecosystem players.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me tell you that SEE Pakistan started with a mega event of World Startup Championship. And under World Startup Championship, we launched this at national and international level. More at national level, more than 1,000 startup entries received from 154 public and private sector universities of Pakistan.

And after rigorous evaluation and selection process held across Pakistan during 8 regional rounds. We have been able to select 100 top startups from across Pakistan. And if I talk about international level, we received 100 international startup entries from around 20 countries.

And after rigorous selection process, we have been able to select 15 international startups from 11 countries. Who are presenting or showcasing innovative sides in SEE Pakistan international pavilion. Moreover, SEE Pakistan hosted two-day International Educators Summit.

The objective of International Summit for Entrepreneurial Educators was to train the entrepreneurial educators to be able to become effective, to play their effective role in the university, and to become part of sustainable economic growth.

This year in this international symposium for entrepreneurial educators. We have delegates from Russia, Jordan, Indonesia, Malaysia. So it was a huge success for Pakistan.

Another event of SEE Pakistan was Academic Excellence Awards. This year we hosted academic excellence award in the Governor’s House. The basic objective of academic excellence award was to recognise and appreciate the role and contribution of our entrepreneurial academic leaders.

Who are bringing change in Pakistani universities and making Pakistan proud. And today is the final day of SEE Pakistan. Where more than 100 startups are showcasing their innovative ideas and creative ideas.

Ladies and gentlemen, on this occasion today. I really want to thank various stakeholders. Who helped us to make this expo successful.

First of all, I am very thankful to the Chairman APSUP. For giving us opportunity to expand SEE Pakistan not only at national level but at international level. His direction, patronage, nonetheless has enabled us to materialise his dream of creating platform for the youth.

I am also extremely thankful for his leadership. He was able to bring private sector universities together to bring harmony, inclusivity and collaboration. I must acknowledge APSUP’s role that they have been able to portray the soft image of Pakistan in front of international community.

And by leading the delegation of 21 universities in EURIE this year in Turkey. So it was a great platform to showcase the good image of Pakistani higher education at international level. So thank you very much Chairman, Professor Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman, for creating so many opportunities for public and private sector universities.

I am also very thankful to our partner universities. For believing in the idea of entrepreneurial revolution for the youth. It is a great show of collaboration and partnership. And this show would have not been possible without my partner universities. I am truly thankful to Chairman BOG, University of Lahore, Awais Rauf.

Chairman BOG, University of Sialkot, Faisal Muneer; and chairman BOG, University of Faisalabad, Haider Amin. Thank you very much for believing in us and helping us to showcase innovative and creative Pakistan.

I am truly grateful to Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission and Chairman Higher Education Commission Pakistan for their generous patronage. On this occasion today I would like to request chairman HEC that we need to seriously design some outcome based measures to develop entrepreneurial ecosystem at the university level.

Believe me investing in entrepreneurship education would be the highest return on investment Pakistan can make. And our universities are in dire need of that.

All they need is your patronage and support in implementing entrepreneurship education. Because it will help universities to make their youth employable and entrepreneurial in their work.

So, I request your patronage. Let’s sit together and design an inclusive framework of entrepreneurship education. So that we can bring this revolution to other universities as well. Moreover, there are few other stakeholders I would like to acknowledge and appreciate their role. I am really very thankful to all the sponsors, international community to be part of this SEE Pakistan today. Prof. Dr. Sumaira Rehman Speech | See Pakistan 2022

It is my absolute honour to welcome all of you to the biggest entrepreneurial expo, SEE Pakistan 2022. An entrepreneurial revolution or entrepreneurial culture is the foundation of any thriving economy or society.

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful. Honourable Chief Guest, Professor Dr. Shahid Munir; Chairman, Professor Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman; Chairman, Vice-Chancellor’s Committee, Muhammad Ali Sahib; Distinguished Guests, Sponsors, my worthy Vice-Chancellors and my dear students.

Assalamualaikum!

It is my absolute honour to welcome all of you to the biggest entrepreneurial expo, SEE Pakistan 2022. An entrepreneurial revolution or entrepreneurial culture is the foundation of any thriving economy or society.

And I firmly believe that entrepreneurship has the power to change the world. I believe in the power of entrepreneurship because it has the solution to tackle some of the biggest challenges we face today. That is why the objective of today’s expo is not only to promote entrepreneurship culture in Pakistan, but also to ignite the passion of entrepreneurship among youth.

Youth is the most important asset Pakistan has. 97% youth, the overwhelming majority that Pakistan is blessed with. And universities no doubt have a huge responsibility to channelise the positive energy of the youth and turn this human resource into human capital to build economically superior Pakistan.

Let me share, the journey of today’s expo actually started five years ago with the vision that the Superior University will not be the factory of unemployed youth. It will be the university which will nurture and encourage entrepreneurial mindset of youth to become job creators instead of job seekers. Because I believe that youth have the power to change the world.

And youth have power to change Pakistan as well because it is the most prestigious treasure we have. So, it was the time when I designed Entrepreneurship Teaching and Training Programme with the vision to inculcate entrepreneurial mindset to enrich, enable and empower the youth with critical and innovative skills to design solutions of the societal problems. And Alhamdulillah, within a very short span of time, our unique Entrepreneurship Teaching and Training Programmes impact has increased significantly.

I can proudly share that 100 student-owned startups are commercial and they have created 700 new jobs and they have generated 700 million revenues. I still believe and since the time I joined Superior University, I feel as every day is a new day at Superior because we continue to innovate our teaching and learning pedagogies and we always think of new ways on how to improve our impact as a university.

Being rector, I am a firm believer of inclusivity and working in collaboration with others.

That is why this year’s expo is different than the last years. This year, this expo has expanded at national level. This year, it is a great show and representation of all public and private sector universities from all over Pakistan.

Under the National Startup Championship, 1000 startups from 129 universities competed and after a very rigorous criteria of selection, only 100 impactful startups are showing their innovative ideas today in SEE Pakistan 2022. I am extremely thankful to Chairman APSUP for giving us this opportunity to expand Superior’s revolution across Pakistan because it was purely his idea to expand SEE Pakistan 2022 at national level. I am extremely thankful to you Chairman Sir.

I hope so we have been able to achieve your expectations. I am also very thankful to our partner universities who have joined hands together with us and especially I am very thankful to the Chairman Board of Governors, University of Faisalabad, Haider Amin. Thank you very much for your generous and unconditional support.

I am also very thankful because it will be unfair without acknowledging and recognising the contribution of all members of my EO community because they have been with us during the early days of our entrepreneurship journey. So, thank you very much for your patronage. I am also very thankful to Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission for his patronage and facilitation.

Today I really want to appreciate the hard work, dedication and devotion of the entire organising team for putting up such a wonderful show. Especially Executive Director APSUP, Mr. Murtaza Noor; Director 3U1M Programme, Ms. Ayesha Zahid; Deputy Director, Mr. Muneeb; thank you very much for all the hard work.

I also appreciate and recognise the generous contribution of our collaborators, sponsors for joining hands together. In the end, definitely I want to give a message to my youth that live your life with dignity and respect. Work hard and never give up because you are the prestigious treasure of Pakistan and you have the ability to create a difference in the lives of many. And remember, what Iqbal has said very well that, the nation does not need a sword, whose soldiers are self-sufficient.

So once again, welcome to SEE Pakistan 2022.
Thank you very much.

Prof. Dr. Sumaira Rehman's Speech at IMC Conference

I would like to tell you a bit about Superior University. Superior University is a university driven by its vision, mission and values. Our focus on student success is helping us to design or bring innovation into our educational models and guiding us to design some creative solutions to tackle the challenges of student employability at Superior University.

Speech of Rector

Delivered at: 3rd International Medical conference 2024

Venue: University of Lahore

Dated: March 8, 2024

Honorable Chief Guest, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission, Professor Dr. Mukhtar Saab. Distinguished Guest, Ladies and Gentlemen

السلام وعلیکم

Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to share the stage with the dignitaries today. Being the Rector of Superior University, it is my absolute honor to welcome all of you to the International Medical Conference, which is jointly co-hosted by the University of Lahore and Superior University. So I am very thankful for the entire organizing team for putting on this wonderful conference today.

So, before I jump on to the topic today, I would like to tell you a bit about Superior University. Superior University is a university driven by its vision, mission and values. Our focus on student success is helping us to design or bring innovation into our educational models and guiding us to design some creative solutions to tackle the challenges of student employability at Superior University.

So, our very innovative and experiential learning framework, which is 3U1M. 3U1M is three years in the university, powered by project-based learning and one market intensive year, followed by four career streams. It has the power to not only prepare the market-ready graduates, but also to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs.

It’s been four years since we implemented our 3U1M program to transform our entire undergrad education at Superior University. I feel so proud in sharing that 140 student-owned startups are commercial. They have created 1,500 new jobs and they have generated Rs. 13 billion revenues.

And moreover, our student employability has significantly improved from 70% to 90%. And this is all just because we are measuring the socioeconomic impact of our 3U1M program. But being the Rector of Superior University, I’m mindful of the fact that Superior University should be known by its research.

So, we envision to promote applied research at Superior University. Research that has a societal benefit. And our five-year strategic plan, which is Soar to Roar, has a very promising initiative to make Superior University one of the leading research universities by 2028, Inshallah.

And this conference, I must say, it is one of the strategic initiative of just promoting research culture in Pakistan. And to provide a platform where researchers can connect and share their knowledge. As you all know, AI has transformed or revolutionized almost every field.

And the role of AI in medical is well established, especially in terms of diagnostics, treatment, planning, and patient management. So, AI driven innovations has a power to actually analyze medical imaging. And they can actually help in detection and classification of diseases.

And they help us in measuring the impact of treatments on patient outcomes with better accuracy and reliability and efficiency. So, I was just going through this policy document, which is jointly developed by the team of Superior University and team of University of Lahore. And I was so excited to see that there are so many promising opportunities that AI can offer as far as medical and dental education is concerned.

For example, AI tutors, AI chatbots, and AI assisted simulations. And most of all, like AI algorithms to actually analyze the large medical data sets to actually design informed curriculum for medical and dental. So, I believe there is a huge potential in embracing these kinds of technologies in healthcare to improve the delivery and the quality of healthcare in Pakistan generally.

So, considering the promising role of AI, I must suggest that there should be increase of investment, especially the government investment, if we really want to bring improvement in healthcare in Pakistan. Not only in Pakistan, but to compete globally. And there must be like dedicated capacity building programs for faculty and for practitioners to embrace the disruptive technologies AI is offering.

And we must be able to promote interdisciplinary research to foster the indigenous innovations in healthcare, especially in Pakistan. And I must suggest that we should be able to integrate artificial intelligence in telemedicine and remote patient monitoring in order to improve the quality of like healthcare, the access of healthcare to different people, especially in rural areas. But for that, I strongly suggest that there must be community engagement and awareness for cultural sensitivity.

Otherwise, we won’t be able to actually indulge into these kind of technologies. Although it has a promising future and with the introduction of AI in healthcare, it has transformed the entire health sector. But I feel like adoption of AI needs careful ethical considerations and a proper regulatory framework that can guide for the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation for better outcomes.

In the end, definitely, I would like to appreciate the role of PAMI in promoting the culture of collaboration. And this conference is a wonderful example of collaboration between different stakeholders. So I really want to thank the president of PAMI, Professor Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman, for just creating this wonderful platform where we can connect with each other.

And also, I’m very thankful to PAMI for recognizing the true heroes of the society by organizing Healthcare Excellence Awards last night. So it’s a huge recognition for the entire medical fraternity. And I’m also very thankful and I want to appreciate the hard work and dedication of the brilliant teams of University of Longmore and Superior University.

They have brilliantly organized this conference, so I must appreciate their hard work. And I also want to wish all the participants good luck. And I’m sure you’re going to get maximum out of this conference, so thank you very much.

Enjoy your day.
