BS Occupational Therapy

Centering the Patient's Meaningful Life — Occupational therapy is about restoring the ability to do what matters — to cook, to work, to play, to care for a child. This program builds OTs who genuinely listen to patients, understand their individual goals, and design interventions around the patient's definition of a meaningful life rather than a standardized clinical protocol.

The Courage to Advocate for Functional Independence — OTs often fight for patients who cannot fight for themselves — children with autism, stroke survivors, people with disabilities — advocating for adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, and inclusive education in systems that don't always prioritize them. Students are trained to be persistent, creative advocates.

Multi-Setting OT Competence — Students develop hands-on competence in standardized OT assessment, sensory integration therapy, upper limb rehabilitation, assistive technology prescription, autism intervention, hand therapy, mental health OT, and community rehabilitation — producing versatile occupational therapists ready for hospitals, schools, and community settings.
